TCE 010: Nichole Warner, the chocolate conscious entrepreneur

The Conscious Entrepreneur is coaching and strategy for those looking to create or find meaningful work aligned with your values, strengths and what makes you come alive.   Make your ideas happen, be successful, make a difference, from the inside out.

The Conscious Entrepreneur Podcast is all about personal, inside stories from Conscious Entrepreneurs… what did they want to be as a kid? What path did they take to get where they are now, and what challenges did they face along the way?  Why they do what they do, and how does it fit with their passions, values and skills, and how does it make them come alive?

Nicole Warner has been in the fair trade world for well over 10 years. Starting with a physical store in downtown Traverse City, then to an online fair trade store, then to making granola mixes from fair trade cacao mixed with nuts & fruit, and now onto her long-term dream: making chocolate from raw beans to beautiful bars. She is the co-founder and head chocolate mamma at Just Good Chocolate (and real mamma of 5).

“We have a great big family and we live in a special little corner of Northern Michigan – a peninsula, within a peninsula, as some might say…Leelanau County. Being surrounded by natural beauty and a thriving local culinary scene has prompted us to want to create some of the most delicious edibles on Earth. With the help of Mother Nature and jolt of playful creativity, we think we’ve done just that! Having had the opportunity to travel & gain a perspective on the conditions in which most of the world lives, and the rapid degradation of some of our most sacred land, we’re also committed to socially and environmentally conscious business practices.”
